About the Visiting Fellowship Scheme
The Visiting Fellowship Scheme enables statelessness researchers, practitioners, and educators to spend time with the Peter McMullin Centre on Statelessness.
Visitors are encouraged to engage actively with the Centre’s academic and professional community. Depending on availability, self-funded visitors may receive a workspace as well as library and computer access.
The programme is intended to strengthen collaboration while allowing visitors to develop research or applied work connected to statelessness.
Participation at the Centre
Self-funded visitors are encouraged to take part in the life and work of the Centre during their stay.

Who Can Apply?
The Centre welcomes self-funded visitors whose proposed work is relevant to statelessness and the activities of the Peter McMullin Centre on Statelessness.
The broader Visiting Fellowship Scheme has involved researchers, academics, practitioners, and professionals working on statelessness-related issues.
Applicants seeking a self-funded visit must be able to finance their own stay.
Application Requirements
Applications for a self-funded visit must include:
• Curriculum vitae and list of publications
• Research plan of no more than 1,000 words
• Proposed dates of the visit
• One letter of reference
The research plan should outline the proposed research, activities or collaboration during the visit, and the expected contribution to the work of the Centre.
For non-academic visitors, the reference requirement may be met through a letter of support from an employer or another entity with which the applicant is professionally associated.

Application Period
Applications for self-funded visits can be made year-round.
This differs from the Centre’s funded 2026 Visiting Research Fellowship, for which applications have already closed. The funded fellowship had a deadline of 30 November 2025 and was designed to be undertaken between July and November 2026.
