About the Michael Adamson NEBOSH Diploma Scholarships 2026
The scholarship supports academic and career progression for aspiring health and safety practitioners. It is named in memory of Michael Adamson, who lost his life in a preventable workplace accident.
NEBOSH will award scholarships to seven National Diploma learners based in the United Kingdom and thirteen International Diploma learners. The programme aims to widen access to professional education and support safer workplaces.
Funding and Study Options
Each selected learner will receive:

Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must hold a NEBOSH National or International General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety.
Candidates must provide their NEBOSH learner number so that their certification can be verified.
Application Requirements
Applicants must complete the official online application form and answer all required questions.
The application form asks candidates to provide:

• Their preferred National or International Diploma scholarship option
• A NEBOSH learner number
• Examples of how they have applied General Certificate learning in the workplace
• Information about the skills they hope to gain
• An explanation of the potential impact on their career and workplace
• A plan for managing study, revision, and assessment commitments
Applicants must also upload a reference letter from a professional or academic referee. The letter must be provided as a PDF file and written on headed paper from the referee’s employer, Learning Partner, or another institution.

Selection Process
Applications will be assessed by an expert panel.
Selected winners will be contacted and must accept the scholarship prize and its terms by 8 July 2026. NEBOSH may offer the scholarship to an alternative applicant if a selected candidate does not acknowledge or accept the prize.
