Program Introduction

Senior Category
- Open to participants aged 14 to 18
Junior Category
- Open to participants under 14 years old
Applicants must submit their entries according to their age group at the time of entry.
Writing Topics
Senior Category Options
- Imagine a future where people live on the moon. Write about a day in your life there.
- Write a story about a time when you or someone you know had to overcome a fear.
- “We all have a role to play in creating a more equal world.” Write about what this means to you.
Junior Category Options
- Write a story about a secret door that leads to a new world.
- Imagine you could talk to animals. What would they say?
- Write about your favourite place and why it is special to you.
Who Can Apply
The competition is open to young individuals who are citizens or residents of Commonwealth countries. Applicants must be under the age of 18 at the time of submission.
Entry Requirements
- Submissions must be written in English
- Only one entry per participant is allowed
- Entries must be original and not previously published
Submission Deadline
The final date to submit entries is 23 May 2026.
Recognition
Selected winners receive official recognition from the Royal Commonwealth Society, including certificates and additional opportunities linked to the competition.
