About the Masterclass on Modern Diplomacy, Protocol and Leadership
This programme is the second edition of the international masterclass series organized by the Canadian Center for Cultural Diplomacy. It focuses on the theme “Modern Diplomacy, Diplomatic Protocol and Leadership in a Changing Global Environment.”
The masterclass is primarily designed for students, young professionals, and emerging global leaders. It will also bring together diplomats, government officials, public policy professionals, academics, representatives of international organizations, and other professionals.
The programme will feature ambassadors, senior diplomats, diplomatic protocol experts, government officials, academics, internationally recognized trainers, and global leadership experts.
Sessions will combine keynote presentations, practical case studies, interactive discussions, and diplomatic experiences. The programme aims to strengthen practical competencies in diplomacy, protocol, leadership, strategic thinking, communication, and international professional engagement.

Three Executive Learning Sessions
The academic programme consists of three executive learning sessions followed by the official Diplomatic Gala Reception.
Session I — Modern Diplomacy
The first session examines diplomacy in a changing international environment. Topics include the transformation of diplomacy in the 21st century, bilateral and multilateral diplomacy, cultural and public diplomacy, digital diplomacy and international communication, and contemporary diplomatic challenges and opportunities.
Session II — Diplomatic Protocol and International Etiquette
The second session focuses on practical protocol and professional representation. Participants will explore principles of diplomatic protocol, official ceremonies and state events, order of precedence, diplomatic correspondence, international etiquette, cross-cultural protocol, and procedures for receiving international delegations and official guests.
Session III — Leadership and Global Professional Skills
The third session concentrates on leadership in international environments. Topics include strategic leadership, diplomatic negotiation and conflict management, effective presentations and public speaking, decision-making, building influence through diplomacy, and ethical leadership in global affairs.

Diplomatic Gala Reception
The Masterclass will conclude with an official Diplomatic Gala Reception designed to provide a professional setting for networking and international relationship-building.
The Gala programme includes official welcome remarks, diplomatic networking, international cultural exchange, a gala dinner, and the Certificate Ceremony.

Vancouver Cultural Experience
In-person participants will also take part in an organized cultural visit to notable Vancouver landmarks and attractions.
The cultural component combines informal networking with an introduction to Canada’s multicultural values, history, and culture. It includes a guided visit to notable city landmarks and opportunities for participants to interact outside the formal learning sessions.

In-Person and Online Participation
Participants can choose between two participation formats.
In-Person: Participants attend the programme on site in Vancouver and take part in the executive sessions, Vancouver cultural experience, and Diplomatic Gala Reception.
Online: Remote participants join the three executive learning sessions through the hybrid broadcast.
Venue in Vancouver
The Masterclass will take place in Vancouver, British Columbia. The official programme states that it will be hosted at one of the Marriott International hotels in Vancouver.
