Global Peace Photo Award 2026 is a free international photo contest that looks for photographs and stories showing peace, human goodness, and positive change. The Global Peace Photo Award 2026 also includes a children’s category, and the winning photographers will be invited to Vienna for the award ceremony.
What Global Peace Photo Award 2026 Covers
The competition focuses on images that express peace and related themes such as happiness, empathy, encouragement, community solidarity, support for refugees, poverty reduction, medicine, and environmental protection. Applicants may submit more than one entry.
The official contest has three categories: Single Image, Story, and Children’s Category. Edition Lammerhuber is the host organization, and the award is run in partnership with global organizations.

Global Peace Photo Award 2026 Eligibility and Requirements
Applicants younger than 15 must enter the Children’s Peace Image of the Year category. Applicants aged 15 and above must enter the main Global Peace Photo Award category.
For the Story category, submitted photos must be no older than three years. Also, every image or story needs an English caption of up to 2000 characters.
The file rules are specific. Images must be uploaded as .jpg files with at least 3000 pixels on the longer side. They must not include watermarks, logos, names, or borders. The source also states that applicants can submit up to 99 images in the Single Image category, 5 to 12 images in the Story category based on one theme, and multiple images in the Children’s Peace Image of the Year category.
Application Process
Visit the official website, choose the correct category, and upload the entry as a .jpg file. After that, you may edit or delete your submissions before the deadline. Finally, submit the entry before the closing date. If the applicant is 14 years old or younger, the work should be submitted to the Children’s Peace Image of the Year category.
Selection Process
A jury will review the entries based on artistic merit, originality, subject, style, and content related to peace. Winning photographers will receive the Alfred Fried Peace Medal and an invitation to the award ceremony in Vienna in September 2026.
