The AKS Graduate Fellowship 2026 is a non-degree opportunity for international master’s and PhD students. It is offered by the Academy of Korean Studies and takes place in South Korea for six months. The program gives selected fellows a chance to study Korean history, society, or culture while using academic resources and joining a global learning environment.

AKS Graduate Fellowship 2026 Eligibility Requirements
• Applicants must be foreign nationals or overseas Koreans.
• Overseas Koreans must have completed all education outside South Korea.
• Applicants must be Master’s graduates or current PhD students before completion.
• Applicants must be enrolled at an overseas university.
• The research topic must relate to Korean Studies.
• Korean language skills are an advantage.
• Previous fellowship recipients are not eligible to apply again.
Application Process
First, applicants must visit the official application portal and read the 2026 AKS Graduate Fellowship Application Guidelines. After that, they need to create an account, log in, and complete their application form with accurate personal and academic details.
They must also choose an AKS professor as an academic advisor based on their research topic. This step is mandatory, and applications without a professor selection will be disqualified. Moreover, the recommendation letter must be sent directly by the recommender to grad_fellowship@aks.ac.kr. It cannot be sent from the applicant’s own email.
