Programme Background
The Malaysia-UN SDG Trust Fund is a partnership between the United Nations in Malaysia and MySDG Foundation. The Ministry of Finance supports the Fund.
Its purpose is to encourage projects that positively contribute to the Sustainable Development Goals in Malaysia. The Fund Secretariat is under the Office of the UN Resident Coordinator.
The intern will work closely with the Fund Secretariat. The role focuses on communications, monitoring, and evaluation support.
What the Intern Will Do
Responsibilities include:
• Assisting with content development for the Fund’s social media platforms
• Supporting other promotional materials
• Contributing to communications work
• Assisting with monitoring and evaluation activities
Stipend and Conditions
The Malaysia-UN SDG Trust Fund will provide:
✓ RM637.50 per month as a stipend
The monthly stipend follows the provisions of the UNDP Internship Policy.
Interns must submit proof of enrollment in a health insurance plan. They are not considered staff members and cannot represent the United Nations in an official capacity.
In addition, UNDP does not accept responsibility for costs arising from accidents, illness, or death during the internship.
Who Can Apply?
Candidates must satisfy at least one of these criteria:
• Currently be in the final year of a bachelor’s degree.
• Have completed a bachelor’s degree or equivalent studies within the previous year.
• Be participating in a placement year, industrial placement, sandwich placement, or traineeship programme and complete the internship as part of that programme.
All academic backgrounds are accepted. Nevertheless, preference will be given to candidates from the following fields:
• Mass communication
• Public relations
• Journalism
• Marketing
• Graphic design
• Media studies
• Equivalent disciplines
Required Skills
Candidates should have working competencies in Bahasa Malaysia and English.
The internship also requires:
• Proficient use of Microsoft Office productivity tools, especially Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams
• Knowledge and use of design tools, including Canva and Adobe Creative Suite
• Basic to intermediate skills in shooting videos and using editing software, such as CapCut
