About the Atlantic Fellows for Equity in Brain Health Program
The Atlantic Fellows for Equity in Brain Health Program is designed for experienced professionals who want to improve brain health and reduce the impact of dementia. The programme brings together people from different disciplines who are committed to leadership, collaboration, research, and innovation.
The Global Brain Health Institute is based at Trinity College Dublin and the University of California, San Francisco. The fellowship supports emerging leaders through education, mentorship, leadership development, networking, and lifelong global connections.

Fellowship Purpose and Learning Focus
The fellowship helps participants strengthen their expertise while learning from professionals across many fields. Fellows develop an equity-informed understanding of brain health and dementia through clinical, scientific, public health, and humanities perspectives.
The programme is intended for professionals working in areas connected to brain health and dementia. These may include clinical practice, neuroscience, public health, policy, technology, education, engineering, journalism, the arts, business, and the social sciences.
Fellowship Sites
Applicants complete the fellowship year at either Trinity College Dublin or the University of California, San Francisco. Applicants may apply to only one fellowship site per application cycle.
• Trinity College Dublin: A full-time, in-person fellowship based in Dublin, focused on a life-course approach to brain health and the social determinants that influence dementia risk.
• University of California, San Francisco: A global hybrid fellowship combining online learning, international in-person workshops, and a required residential learning experience at UCSF.
Both fellowship sites share the same mission and values but offer different learning experiences. Applicants are encouraged to choose the site that best fits their goals, availability, and preferred learning format.

Application Requirements
Applications must be submitted in English and are considered complete only when all required materials have been received.
Required application components include:

• Statements of purpose describing the applicant’s interest in the fellowship, leadership experience, and future goals
• Two letters of support
At least one letter of support should come from a current employer, institution, organization, professional collaborator, or group that can speak to the applicant’s experience and capacity to create impact after the fellowship.
Selection Process
Applications are reviewed through a competitive selection process. Selected applicants are invited to interview, and interviews are by invitation only.
All applicants are notified of their status by email. Applicants invited to the final stage may be asked to provide official transcripts for further evaluation.
