The AmplifyChange Grants Portal is the required online system for AmplifyChange grant applications. The official FAQ gives practical guidance for SRHR organisations on eligibility, application submission, budget planning, portal use, and grant management.
About the AmplifyChange Grants Portal
AmplifyChange supports grants led by organisations from eligible countries in Africa, South Asia, and the Middle East. These organisations should come from their communities and work to advance sexual and reproductive health and rights.
In addition, lead organisations must operate independently from any headquarters or support office in Europe, North America, or another non-eligible country. This independence includes strategy, fundraising, objectives, brand identity, and governance.
Who Can Apply
The FAQ sets out several eligibility rules for organisations.
• Organisations must be based in an eligible country
• INGOs cannot apply as lead applicants
• INGOs may join as implementing partners when relevant
• Local organisations funded through international federation links outside public grants are not eligible
• Service delivery projects must clearly connect to advocacy and movement building
• Applicants may choose one or more of AmplifyChange’s five priority themes
• Projects may operate in more than one eligible country
• Consortium applications may be submitted
For consortium projects, the lead applicant carries responsibility for contracts or memorandums of understanding with partners. These partners may act as implementing or downstream partners.
How Applications Are Submitted
AmplifyChange accepts applications only through the Grants Portal. It does not accept applications sent by email, social media, or WhatsApp.
Also, each organisation may submit only one application as a lead organisation. Still, a lead grantee may also participate as an implementing partner in another grant application led by another organisation.
Registration Steps
New organisations must register in the Grants Portal. They should open the portal, click “Register,” and complete the questions required by the system.
Existing portal users do not need to register again for future funding rounds. Instead, they can log in with their registered email and password. AmplifyChange aims to review registrations within 72 hours on working days. However, review may take up to five working days during busy periods.
Completing the Application
Applicants should update their individual and organisational profiles early. This helps them stay ready when a funding round opens.
The portal allows users to save an unfinished application. However, users must click Save while working. The system does not autosave, and AmplifyChange cannot recover lost work.
Budget and Funding Rules
AmplifyChange allows applicants to include several costs in the project budget.
✓ Organisational development costs up to 40% of the grant
✓ Core and indirect costs
✓ Staff salaries
✓ Bank transfer charges
✓ Office rent
However, applicants cannot use grant funding to buy vehicles, land, or capital expenditures. Therefore, organisations should prepare budgets according to the official guidance.
Financial Documentation
Opportunity and Strengthening grant applicants may apply without annual audited accounts. In that case, they must provide other financial documents, such as an audited report or a profit and loss statement.
Network and Partnership grant applicants must provide fully audited annual accounts. As a result, applicants should prepare the correct financial evidence for the grant type they choose.
Portal Access and Technical Notes
The AmplifyChange Grants Portal uses Fluxx. For the best experience, the FAQ recommends Google Chrome.
The FAQ also lists Internet Explorer Version 11 and 11+, Safari, Mozilla Firefox, iOS 10.0+ for iPhone or iPad, and Android as compatible systems. Moreover, applicants can use the guidance playlist and the portal’s “Information” section for support across the grant cycle.
After Funding Selection
If an application receives funding, the grantee works with a Grants Manager and the Grants Compliance Team. Together, they update the workplan, budget, indicators, and milestones.
AmplifyChange also notes that it supports flexible funding and core costs. Therefore, grantees should contact their Grants Manager if a major change affects their ability to carry out planned activities.
Application Security
AmplifyChange warns applicants not to send sensitive details through email, social media, or WhatsApp messages claiming to offer funds. If an applicant receives such a message, they should contact enquire@amplifychange.org so the team can check it.
