The Going Global Partnerships TVET Grant Call 2026 is part of the British Council’s Going Global Partnerships programme. The programme supports stronger, more inclusive, and internationally connected higher education and TVET systems through partnerships between universities, colleges, education policymakers, civil society organisations, and industry partners.
This grant call focuses on International Skills Partnerships. These partnerships connect UK-based skills organisations with TVET stakeholders in partner countries to share expertise, strengthen systems, and support skills development.

Partnership Purpose and Format
The grant call is designed for UK-based skills organisations that want to build networks and capacity to work internationally. Successful partnerships will run for 15 months from November 2026, including a planning and reporting period.
The British Council teams in the UK and the international partner country will provide ongoing advice, guidance, and support throughout the partnership. This support is intended to help facilitate communication and deliver benefit through the partnership activities.

The call includes seven opportunities across five countries. Each opportunity has a specific country context, partner focus, sector area, and collaboration theme.

Funding and Covered Support
Successful applicants will be eligible for grant funding to support partnership activities. The value depends on the selected opportunity.
Confirmed funding details include:
✓ £25,000 grants for selected Egypt, Malawi, and Morocco opportunities
✓ £30,000 grants for selected Ghana and Uganda opportunities
✓ Funding for a 15-month partnership period
✓ Direct disbursement to the UK Lead Institution after signing the Grant Agreement
✓ Support for eligible project-related costs
✓ British Council advice and guidance throughout the partnership
Funding limits apply to some cost categories. Staff costs for personnel working directly on the grant-funded project are limited to 30% of the awarded grant. Expertise costs are limited to 20%, and international travel costs are also limited to 20%.

Eligible Costs
The grant may support costs directly related to the development and delivery of the agreed project. Applicants should ensure that proposed costs align with the official guidance.
Eligible cost areas include:
✓ Economy-class travel and subsistence costs
✓ Visa fees, vaccinations, medical insurance, and travel insurance
✓ Local travel in the UK and overseas
✓ Reasonable accommodation and subsistence costs
✓ Reasonable hospitality costs
✓ Production costs for developing project materials
✓ Consultancy fees within the stated limit
✓ Essential equipment and specialist software licences for project delivery
✓ Meetings, training events, workshops, public engagement events, and seminars
✓ Translation and interpreter fees
✓ Publication costs directly related to the collaboration
✓ Online platform costs for digital delivery
✓ Monitoring and evaluation costs
All funded activities must be directly related to the approved project.
Who Can Apply?
Each proposal must have one Lead Institution from the UK. The UK Lead Institution must fall under one of the eligible organisation types listed in the official guidance.
Eligible UK Lead Institutions include:
• Further education colleges listed on the List of colleges in the UK
• Independent training providers from the UK Register of Learning Providers
• Membership organisations with a role in the TVET or Further Education system
• Sector skills organisations
• Awarding bodies
Applications that are not led by an eligible institution will be rejected during eligibility checks.
Associate Partners
The partnership may include Associate Partners. These partners can support the project through relevant sector, education, employer, or institutional expertise.
Associate Partners may include:
• Employer organisations and industry bodies
• Education organisations, charities, foundations, or membership bodies
• Public or private organisations with a role in the TVET or Further Education system
• Not-for-profit organisations, including NGOs
• Government organisations
• Civil society organisations and social enterprise organisations
• Universities
For-profit non-education organisations are only eligible to receive funding for travel-associated costs.

Application Requirements
Applications must be submitted online through the Going Global Partnerships Grants Portal. The application should be completed in English and include the required supporting documents.
Applicants should prepare:
• Completed application form
• Supporting documents in English
• Supporting letter from the Lead Institution on headed paper
• Letter signed by the Head of Department or another person with delegated authority
• Confirmation that the Lead Institution has capacity to administer the grant
• Confirmation of compliance with British Council requirements related to bribery, fraud, and professional misconduct
• CV of the Lead Applicant
• Associate Partner letters, where relevant
Applicants who want to apply for more than one advertised opportunity must begin a new form for each opportunity.
Selection Process
Applications received by the deadline will be logged and acknowledged. Applications will then be reviewed for completeness. If the application does not include the required materials, it may be declared ineligible and may not proceed to the next stage.
Complete applications will be assessed by a panel of subject experts. The assessment will use criteria stated in the official guidance, including organisational experience and capacity, project approach, finance and budgets, gender and EDI impact, environmental impact, ethics, and economic development relevance.
Top-ranked applications will be selected and notified about contracting and grant disbursement. Unsuccessful applicants will be notified later and may request feedback.
