About the CERN Administrative Student Programme 2027-1

The programme allows students to develop professional skills while contributing to administrative work at CERN.

Administrative Students learn from experienced professionals and support real projects and daily operations. Depending on their field, their activities may include preparing documents, analysing data, coordinating activities, and providing operational support.

Participants also work within an international and multidisciplinary team while developing practical skills related to their studies.

Eligible Fields of Study

The programme is intended for students currently studying in areas such as:

• Administration
• Communication
• Finance
• Human Resources
• Law
• Logistics
• Procurement
• Related fields

Applicants should be required or encouraged by their university to complete a practical training period.

Students studying in STEM or engineering fields are not eligible for this particular programme. CERN directs those applicants toward its Technical Student programme.

Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must satisfy the eligibility conditions stated by CERN.

Candidates must:

• Be a national of a CERN Member State or Associate Member State
• Have completed at least 18 months, or three semesters, of studies in the relevant field by the time of selection
• Remain enrolled as a full-time student throughout the studentship
• Have a good knowledge of English or French
• Be studying in an administrative or related eligible field

PhD students and PhD holders are not eligible.

The current vacancy also states that applications cannot presently be considered from Pakistani, Lithuanian, Latvian, Cypriot, and Croatian nationals because the applicable ceiling under the Associate Membership Agreement has been reached.

Working Conditions

The CERN Administrative Student Programme is a full-time, onsite placement.
