The Sir James McNeill Postgraduate Research Scholarship, also known as SJMN, is funded by a private trust. It was established in memory of the late Sir James McNeill, who had a long association with Monash University.

Selection Criteria
Monash states that its scholarships are highly competitive. Awards are based on academic excellence, research outputs, and prior research experience.

How to Apply
Graduate research scholarship applications are submitted at the same time as the course application, unless the applicant is already enrolled.
Both new applicants and current students use the myApp Portal for course admission and scholarship applications. Applicants do not need to select specific scholarships, as eligible applicants are automatically considered for all available graduate research scholarships.
The Sir James McNeill Postgraduate Research Scholarship is awarded in the 31 October scholarship round only. Eligible applicants from Rounds 1 through 4 in the same year in which the scholarship is offered will automatically be considered for nomination by the relevant faculty.
