Programme Purpose and Format
The accelerator combines mentorship and structured curriculum. Its goal is to help participating social entrepreneurs address gaps in three main areas:
✓ Impact model
✓ Business model
✓ Growth strategies
The programme is built for enterprises that can commit time to working with a mentor and completing programme deliverables. The official screening criteria state that a business may be a good fit if it is operational, focused on serving people living in poverty, and able to commit 3–6 hours per week.
Focus Areas
The Miller Center Accelerator programme focuses on social enterprises working in women’s economic power, climate resilience, or both.
The official screening form asks applicants to identify whether their work relates to:
• Women’s economic empowerment
• Climate resilience
• Clean energy
• Clean water
• Climate-smart agriculture
The form also asks organizations to explain how their enterprise serves people living in poverty, including people living in poverty as customers, beneficiaries, employees, or supply chain partners.
