Applications are open for the European Parliament Schuman Traineeships 2026. This is a paid program run by the European Parliament, and candidates from all over the world may apply, including European and non-European nationals. The traineeship lasts five months and is designed to give practical experience within EU institutions.
Program Details
The traineeship takes place from 1 October to 28/29 February. In addition, the European Parliament selects around 1,000 Schuman trainees each year. The program can be undertaken in Brussels, Luxembourg, Strasbourg, or in the European Parliament’s Liaison Offices in the Member States.

European Parliament Schuman Traineeships 2026 Eligibility
Applicants must generally meet these conditions:
• Be at least 18 years old
• Hold a university degree
• Know one EU language strongly
• Have good knowledge of another language
• Not have worked for an EU institution for more than two months before
• Meet the requirements of the chosen traineeship
• Some traineeships may also accept applicants from non-EU countries
Areas of Work
There are around 500 traineeship offers per campaign. The listed areas include law, communication, finance, multilingualism, administration, IT, politics, public policy, human resources, infrastructure and logistics, EU internal policies, and related fields.
Application Requirements and Process
Applicants may need to prepare a CV, a motivation letter, degree certificates, language proof, a criminal record certificate, and other supporting documents. To apply, candidates must visit the official traineeship application page and select up to three traineeships. If selected, the candidate receives an official Admission Letter by email.
