EUI Traineeships 2026 Programme Details
The European University Institute offers traineeship opportunities each year for motivated talents from various academic and professional backgrounds.
Through these traineeships, participants can gain first-hand experience of EUI activities. Moreover, they can apply knowledge gained through studies or professional work while developing new skills in a multicultural setting.
The work area depends on the assigned unit. Available areas may include the Library, ICT Service, Historical Archives of the European Union, academic units, and central administration services.
Traineeship Options
The EUI offers two types of traineeships:
• Paid traineeship for up to one year
• Unpaid traineeship for up to three months
Shorter paid traineeships may be granted in justified cases. However, they must last at least three months.
Funding and Support
✓ Paid trainees receive €1,540 per month
✓ Paid trainees recruited from outside Florence may receive travel reimbursement
✓ Health insurance is required and may be obtained through the Institute upon request
✓ Trainees are covered against accident risk by the Institute’s collective policy by default
