The Lund University Summer School in Digital Human Rights 2026 is an intensive academic programme in Sweden focused on the application of international human rights law in the digital age. The course will be delivered by leading experts and is designed for applicants who already have a strong academic or professional background in the field.
Lund University Summer School in Digital Human Rights 2026 Overview
This programme will run in Lund from 22 to 26 June 2026. According to the official page, it is a residential and advanced summer school organised by the Faculty of Law and the Raoul Wallenberg Institute for Human Rights at the University of Lund.
The course will address key digital human rights issues. These include privacy, freedom of expression online, cyber-related business and human rights issues, AI regulation, AI manipulation, electoral interference, hybrid threats to democracy, and international cybercrime treaties.

Who Can Apply
The page explains that this is an advanced course. Therefore, applicants must already have sufficient knowledge of human rights law and public international law, and they must also have an excellent working knowledge of English.
Applicants must meet one of the following routes:
• Hold a master’s degree in law or in a related field such as politics or international relations, or currently be enrolled in a master’s programme, with evidence of sufficient knowledge of human rights and public international law
• Or hold a bachelor’s degree in one of these fields and show at least 2 years of relevant work experience, such as work in legal practice, government, or a civil society organization

Course Teaching Methods
The programme will use interactive seminars and group exercises. Moreover, participants will have conversations with practitioners working in digital human rights. The faculty will include experts from the University of Lund together with distinguished external experts.
