KAUST Photonics Summer Camp – Fully Funded Research Internship in Saudi Arabia

The KAUST Photonics Summer Camp is a fully funded, four-week research internship hosted by King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) on its campus in Saudi Arabia. It is designed for undergraduate and master’s students from around the world who are interested in practical research and innovation in modern photonics and optical science.

Program Overview
The summer camp provides participants with hands-on experience in cutting-edge photonics research, including work on topics such as semiconductor lasers, photonic integrated circuits, quantum technologies, optical communications, neuromorphic computing, and hyper-vision systems. Alongside project work, students attend workshops and technical training sessions where they learn to use advanced tools like state-of-the-art nanofabrication and imaging equipment.

Participants also gain laboratory experience, take part in site visits, and interact with peers and entrepreneurs during the camp, helping to deepen their knowledge of optical science and research practices.
